Ford Expecting Increased F-150 Sales, Beefs Up Workforce in Rouge Plant

November 14th, 2008

Amid the credit crunch and mortgage disaster that led manufacturers to lay off thousands of workers, Ford in Dearborn, Michigan is hiring 1000 more workers to help in the production at their River Rouge Factory.

Ford expects increase in sales upon the release of their 2009 Ford F-150. This is contrary to the predictions of most experts that pick-up sales will be down.

The additional manpower will have the production having a third shift with total employees rising to 3300. Company officials believe that they are positioned well where people buy pick-ups despite of the economy being very poor.

The 2009 Ford F-150 will make competitors like Toyota, Dodge, Chevrolet, Nissan and GM think over their moves.

The Ford F-150 is still the best selling truck in the US. Ford carries around 35 variants of the F-150 which are sold as Regular, SuperCrew Cab, and SuperCab. Truck buyers can also choose from different bed lengths and drive configurations.

A vehicle that seats five passengers with two boxes, a value-priced way to getting to one’s destination and a stylish collection with various colors, Kia Soul definitely has it. This unit has four-door crossover slots with a noticeable function of design and utility. The teen soul can truly be captured with Kia Soul.

First came out in 2006 in the auto show at Detroit, Soul has now evolved to a variety of color schemes. Factory wheels have also been developed to a maximum of 18 inches. Since Kia is targeting mostly the teen market, accessories have also been prepared. Teenagers just love to accessorize or in their term ‘pimp’ it. It’s more like ‘make your own cup of coffee’ kind of thing wherein owners can choose their own style through time.
