Trans. Dept. Hires More People: Let’s Get Those Rebates Out!

August 11th, 2009

cash-for-clunkers-ford-dealer-banner-630-gettyIf there was one thing that the government did not expect, it was the overwhelming response that people had when the Cash for Clunkers program came into play.  To be honest, I did not think that we would actually be able to pull it off, however it seems that the auto industry is booming right now and instead of laying off – they are actually having to hire people in order to process the rebates for the Cash for Clunkers program.

If there is one thing that I know about Detroiter’s, it is the fact that if they are owed money, they want it right away – and that is why the transportation department is actually hiring people so that the paperwork can get processed faster.  That is the greatest thing in the world … honestly.

So far, about $1.63 billion dollars has gone into this particular program and about 400,000 vouchers have been turned in by dealers, which is amazing!

Rolls-Royce Star of India: Auctions Starting At For €10,000,000

August 1st, 2009

Rolls-Royce When you are looking for a car – your first thought probably does not go out to a car that has been around for a while right?  Well, mind does and that I why I just had to let you know about this beautiful and classic Rolls-Royce.  This car is currently tucked away in India and while I know that I will never actually get to see it up close, I just thought that you guys should see a car that is not only beautiful – but is classic.

The Rolls-Royce is a 1934 car and it is actually a Phantom II 40/50 HP.  While it might not go from 0 to 100 very fast, it is a classic car that is beautiful to look at.  While I think that fourteen million dollars is a little more than I’d like to ever spend on a car … the Rolls-Royce is a car that is so worth it!

So if you are looking for a car that is going to be beautiful to ride around in but a car that will cost you a pretty penny to own – the Rolls-Royce is the car for you!

Goodbye, Gold Wing: Honda Stops Production On Motorcycles

July 23rd, 2009

Honda Gold Wing

We all knew that it was going to happen – the day that Gold Wing motorcycles by Honda stops and the production plant closes.  Now of course, last year Honda announced that it was going to happen but finally, they are doing it and closing down their production plant on Marysville, Ohio.  We are all going to miss the Honda Gold Wing being made in the United States, however – I think importing these particular motorcycles might be the best course of action.

The weird thing about them closing the plant this year is that this year actually marks the first 50 years of Honda making cars and motorcycles in America – while it might make financial sense to them, it is sort of confusing to us – however, that is neither here nor there because they are going to do it anyway.

We will miss you Gold Wing, but at least we can still expect to purchase these beautiful bikes via dealerships – and importing.

Sporty 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid: It’s Official!

July 19th, 2009

Sporty 2011 Honda CR-Z hybridIf there is one car that is by far the most anticipated car in the world, it has got to be the Sporty 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid.  Personally, I have been waiting for Honda to come out with another cool looking hybrid car.  I personally love Honda cars, I think that they are built incredible, they look awesome and all around, it is a fantastic investment!  However, the fact that they do not have enough choices in the hybrid department is something that I have been waiting for them to expand.

That is why I can not wait for the Sporty 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid to come out!  This car not only looks really, really friggin’ cool, but I have to say that it is going to be one of the hottest cars on the market as soon as it does come out.  Hybrid cars nowadays are becoming increasingly popular and while I know that Honda has the CRX, I think that the CR-Z is going to be much better.

If you are looking for a Honda car that is a hybrid and you can wait a year – just wait for the Sporty 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid to come out, it is well-worth the wait!

The Dodge Viper: Is It Going Away?

July 12th, 2009

Dodge ViperWe have all been extremely unsure of the future of the Dodge Viper since last summer – there has been talk of the Viper just being killed and Dodge has also considered selling off the rights to the Viper to any potential buyers.  Some of those buyers include Roush and Saleen, however, the dwindling economy has led to just one lowball offer for the rights of this particular car from Michigan-based Devon Motor Works.

Right now, the Viper is not for sale – while the car will still be available for the select buyers that are looking for this car, it is not going to be for sale to the general public and after 2010, Dodge is very uncertain about the life of Dodge Viper, if it is going to live or not.

Personally, I hope that it does because I think that the Viper is one of those cars that is so classic – so beautiful and should not be killed.  Hell, if I had enough money – I’d buy the rights!
