The Ford Kuga: It’s Coming To The States!

October 23rd, 2009

Ford KugaFor those of you that think that Ford is not making money overseas or even producing cars strictly for overseas consumers … you are wrong.  Have you ever heard of the Ford Kuga?  Probably not because this particular COV is actually just produced in Europe and it is not available for sale in the states, however … it is coming back.

Ford actually plans to build as many as 80,000 units of the Ford Kuga here for export overseas.  They are actually bringing the production back to the states and honestly, that is going to make UAW very, very happy, which is the ultimate goal of Ford right?

Right now, Ford is awaiting the ratification of the new labor deal that would honestly put labor costs of the Dearborn, MI based automaker on a nearly equal footing with GM – which is good!

Ford Gets C-MAXxed Out!

September 13th, 2009

fordThe European division of Ford recently released the very first, official pictures of this little beauty, called the Ford C-MAX. It is scheduled to make a worldwide debut this year at the IAA, which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany.

Design wise, its cues are taken from the Iosis Max, a concept car which was revealed at the motor show in Geneva earlier this year. However, the C-MAX promises to bring more in the way of style and desirability, especially when it comes to compact, multi activity vehicles.

It is anticipated that the Ford C-MAX will ultimately be launched during the second half of next year. It is also to be the first of a new generation which will feature vehicles that have been developed from the brand new C segment platform.

U.S. Prepares to Greet the Ford Fiesta

June 19th, 2009

fiesta_fd000_optIt has been a very, very … very, very long time since the big wigs — Ford, Chrysler, General Motors — have made a small car that actually, you know … looks attractive, and like you would actually want to drive it anywhere … and be seen in it. As it so happens, however, Fresh Car News has some … well, as a matter of fact, we have some fresh car news.

The Ford Motor Company is finally following up the success it had with the Ford Focus, which was first introduced in 2000. Nine years is a long time to wait, but the 2011 Ford Fiesta promises to end the dry spell — even though it sadly is not quite the Euro-Spec Focus.

This is rather disgruntling, since in 2005, the Focus which was revised for Europe was way nicer than the version we got stateside. But still.

With the Fiesta, we are getting a compact car with five doors — it somehow manages to be both big and little at the same time. The question is, will the car be worth it?

Ford Expecting Increased F-150 Sales, Beefs Up Workforce in Rouge Plant

November 14th, 2008

Amid the credit crunch and mortgage disaster that led manufacturers to lay off thousands of workers, Ford in Dearborn, Michigan is hiring 1000 more workers to help in the production at their River Rouge Factory.

Ford expects increase in sales upon the release of their 2009 Ford F-150. This is contrary to the predictions of most experts that pick-up sales will be down.

The additional manpower will have the production having a third shift with total employees rising to 3300. Company officials believe that they are positioned well where people buy pick-ups despite of the economy being very poor.

The 2009 Ford F-150 will make competitors like Toyota, Dodge, Chevrolet, Nissan and GM think over their moves.

The Ford F-150 is still the best selling truck in the US. Ford carries around 35 variants of the F-150 which are sold as Regular, SuperCrew Cab, and SuperCab. Truck buyers can also choose from different bed lengths and drive configurations.
