young-driverNow that we have talked a little bit about the distractions that your teen might be experiencing, let’s go ahead and touch on another thing that you might not realize and that is that the seatbelt.  Seatbelts are very important and it has been shown that teenagers are the worst offenders of not wearing their seatbelts.

You also want to make sure that your teen knows all about the speed limits and just what speed limit they should not go over.  You do not want your teenager speeding, as they could certainly get pulled over and that would not be good for anyone!

Teaching your teenager to drive is a great idea, however you want to make sure that you are smart about it!

learnerdriveDM2511_468x336We all know that when it comes to kids, they can be easily distracted and most of the time, this is actually what causes a lot of the accidents that involve teenagers.  Whenever you are teaching your child to drive, you want to make sure that you are stressing the importance of limiting a lot of the distractions that they might be experiencing when they are driving.

For one, you want to make sure that you keep the radio off, especially with a new driver.  To be honest, the radio is one heck of a distraction and could actually cause an accident if you are not careful.

This is why eliminating a lot of the distractions while your teen is driving is very, very important.

landing_main_imageOne thing that you will notice about teenagers is that they are very, very irresponsible.  Not only are they irresponsible but if you do not provide them with the tools that they need, you might actually hinder them from doing a lot of things, like driving.

Teaching your teenager how to drive is definitely something that can be difficult and is certainly something that you want to be careful of.  If you are not the greatest driver in the world, you should probably not be teaching your kid how to drive.

That is after all, what driver’s education is for and in the next couple articles, we are going to explore exactly how this can impact your teen driver!
