November 14th, 2008

Amid the credit crunch and mortgage disaster that led manufacturers to lay off thousands of workers, Ford in Dearborn, Michigan is hiring 1000 more workers to help in the production at their River Rouge Factory.

Ford expects increase in sales upon the release of their 2009 Ford F-150. This is contrary to the predictions of most experts that pick-up sales will be down.

The 2009 Ford F-150 will make competitors like Toyota, Dodge, Chevrolet, Nissan and GM think over their moves.

The Ford F-150 is still the best selling truck in the US. Ford carries around 35 variants of the F-150 which are sold as Regular, SuperCrew Cab, and SuperCab. Truck buyers can also choose from different bed lengths and drive configurations.

Ford has engineered the new F-150 range to be more fuel efficient. It boasts of an 8% improvement compared to the older models of the truck.

The truck is also ahead of the pack when it comes to towing capacity. It can pull as much as 11300 pounds. It has a hauling capacity of 3030 pounds. The Trailer Sway Control and the Roll Stability Controls ensure that the truck performs what it needs to do given towing workloads.

The 2009 F-150 will remind car owners of the bigger F-250 Super Duty. The new F-150 features refined looks powered by a range of engines outputting 320 horsepower and a torque of 390 lb-ft.
